“Roses” was created in May 1890, the eve before van Gogh left the asylum in Saint-Rémy and just two months before his death. "Roses" was one of four still life paintings in the Saint-Rémy series, "Irises" being another. Renowned for its soothing composition and once vibrant color, "Roses" has significant historical context of van Gogh's struggle with mental health while nearing the end of his recovery journey at the Saint-Rémy asylum. The green and yellow diagonal background strokes give this painting an almost animated feel, that once contrasted with the pink roses that has, unfortunately, faded with time.

The Artist Series artfully transforms paint strokes into paper strips using the ancient art of quilling. Each card takes several hours to make and reimagine a famous work of art into a magnificent greeting card that can either be sent and shared with loved ones or kept and framed as the work of art it is.
